Mew knows what the core of my heart sounds like. Seriously. If you would ever like to know what my soul sounds like (which no one probably would bother wondering), listen to everything they’ve done from 2003 (Frengers) onward.
Listen to their sound. Jonas has such a delicate little voice, and though it might be derided for how high it is, he writes memorable melodies. I pay attention to melodies. To me, lyrics in a song could even mean less, even though they carry the language.
Listen carefully for the bass and the effect of each chord change. Listen to the ambience hovering in the background. Listen to the instrumentation and pick out each part. Isolate each one in your head, and appreciate that. 
Listen to everything.
